Ok, hold up! How on earth could I ever speak as a voice of authority on loving singleness when I met my boyfriend in what sounds like a line out of a cheesy Hallmark movie?? Well, let me tell you I have the scars of disappointment to prove it. And believe me, the chapters preceding this story were filled with years of heartache mixed with wild adventure.
It’s taken me 32 years to figure this out and I want to share with you how I learned to love the life in front of me in singleness.
Instead of exuding desperate energy by searching for a spouse in my single years, I focused on my personal journey. Living with this hunger for adventure naturally attracted a community of people who shared my passion in the same season of life. And guess what that did? It put me in environments that grew my community and eventually led me into a room where I met someone who shared my same passion for adventure, ambition for business, and love for coffee and Jesus.
Letting go of the scarcity mindset and desperate search for “the one” gave me the freedom to enjoy my life and naturally be curious about meeting new people without an agenda.
